Coal India Limited, is a prime producer of coking & non-coking coal in India. It operates coal mines in the state of Jharkhand and West Bengal. Its operation is spread over 305 Km2 in the districts of Dhanbad, Bokaro and Burdwan. Mining operation is spread over two coalfields namely Jharia Coalfield and Ranigunj Coalfield.
